In this presentation we will ask the question: “What value do human beings have in capturing sports data during the age of automated data capture systems?” In particular, we will explore several key data points that augment or supplement MLB Statcast data. We’ll then pivot into a second topic and give the audience a chance to see one of the best new products to hit the market for data storytelling – it’s an application called Remarkable, which is now being used by professional sports teams, broadcasters, and fantasy companies behind the scenes to uncover interesting and remarkable insights about players and teams.
