Clearly, the universe has a curse on the Minnesota Vikings. For example, the last time a kicker missed a field goal against the Vikings was 1963. Okay, that statement is not true. However, as a Vikings fan, that is how I feel. While the Vikings have had some historic field goal misses, I cannot remember one historic miss by an opposing kicker. This study is an attempt to quantify the curse or reveal the depth of my self-delusion. In particular, we explore the field goal percentage of opposing kickers for each NFL team in a number of game situations.
