Advanced statistics in golf provide additional insight as to who’s likeliest to win certain tournaments. Specifically, “Strokes Gained” statistics measure different phases of a player's game, compared with the rest of the field for the tournaments competed. This exercise looks at forecasting who will win the first major of the season: The Masters. This project looks at which factors best determine who will perform well and highlight the types of players likelier to succeed every year, regardless of the changing conditions at Augusta National.
